Create an Account

This page covers instructions on how to create an account and obtain some test tokens.

Signing up

1. Click on the 'Get Started' button in the top right.

2. Sign up with your favorite method. You can choose a social login or connect an existing wallet.

Getting Tokens

Actions on the blockchain require tokens to pay for gas. Please follow these simple instructions to obtain some tokens.

If you already have some tokens (from an existing wallet) or if you are familiar with this process, you may skip this section.

Since we are currently only on testnets, you can obtain these tokens easily from faucets.

We currently support two testnets:

Polkadot Asset Hub

1. Visit https://faucet.polkadot.io/

2. Select the 'Polkadot testnet (Paseo)' network and the 'Hub (smart contracts)' chain.

3. Enter your wallet address.

   1. You can obtain this from the wallet just created for you in the Signing up section.

   2. Head back to the Khoj app and click on the wallet in the top right corner. Make sure the Polkadot Asset Hub chain is selected. If not, click on that and choose the Polkadot Asset Hub chain.

   3. Click on the copy icon next to your address to copy the address. Paste this in the wallet address field on the faucet page.

4. Complete the captcha and click on 'Get some PASs'.

5. Head back to the Khoj app and you should now see an updated balance in your wallet. It might take a little time to reflect.

Base Sepolia

1. Visit https://www.alchemy.com/faucets/base-sepolia (or any other faucet)

2. Enter your wallet address.

   1. You can obtain this from the wallet just created for you in the Signing up section.

   2. Head back to the Khoj app and click on the wallet in the top right corner. Make sure the Base Sepolia chain is selected. If not, click on that and select the Base Sepolia chain.

   3. Click on the copy icon next to your address to copy the address. Paste this in the wallet address field on the faucet page.

3. Complete the captcha and obtain tokens.

4. Head back to the Khoj app and you should now see an updated balance in your wallet. It might take a little time to reflect.

You are now all set!
